I went on a hike recently with an old friend of mine through some of the most quiet hills of Southern California. We took turns photographing each other and taking nature shots (all photos except for the last two are hers). Tourists often come to California and only visit the crowded areas: Los Angeles, Big Bear, San Francisco, Disneyland. Although overcrowded in the metropolitan areas, there are still many incredibly peaceful parts of California where the glistening beauty of the Pacific Ocean can be seen while standing next to a desert cactus.
